Final Grade Calculation Choice

If you want to see what the best option is for your overall grade, you can use the attached spreadsheet (built by Mr. Schmidt and Mr. Foley) to plug in your values and see.  Only enter data in the yellow boxes, and you must email me at ajohnston7202@columbus.k12.oh.us by the 18th IF YOU WANT TO USE YOUR LETTER GRADE.  If you want to do Pass/Incomplete you don't have to do anything.  Remember if your letter grade is below a B- I believe it will auto default back to P/I.

  1. Your should have already completed: 19-21 work on mrj.fyi, Interdependence Pre-test and Post-Test, as well as Cells Pre-Test on edmentum.
  2. Complete the final Disease Activity.  You should already have done the Pathogen POGIL.
  3. Sign in to Clever and go to Edmentum to take the Genetic Pre-test, Evolution Pre-test, and End of Semester Test.  
  4. When done with 1-3: Congrats, you are done with the course and can enjoy your "summer"

AP Biology:   Webex Times:  Tuesday 3pm (FR), Wednesday at 9:45am (Content), and Friday 10:45am (FR).   Webex link

  1. May 4th week: Review Unit Five and Six (Genetics).  We will go over the AP Classroom FR and some extras I send via remind.  We will also go over MC from Units 3-4.
  2. May 11th week: Complete the assigned FR questions via AP Classroom (and any others I send via remind).  We will also go over MC from Units 5-6
  3. Continue reading chapter summaries and using review guides if you have them.  Watching crash course could be a good refresher as well.
  4. In light of the grading policy change, the mesocosm lab will be optional.  If your worked well please feel free to at least describe how you did and if your mesocosm did well (if it did not tell me why and how you might improve it) I will give you some points towards quarter 4 regardless.  Mesocosm Lab Rubric is on page 2 of this document.  (Whatever you do, if you do it, would be due by May 22nd)

  1. All work over 19-21 should be done, as well as the edmentum interdependence Pre- and Post-Test.
  2. Complete the diseases POGIL.
  3. Sign in to Clever and go to Edmentum to take the Cell Pre-Test.  You can complete other work from the cells unit if you want, but you ONLY HAVE TO DO THE Pre-Test.

  1. Review Unit Three and Four (Cellular energetics, divison and signalling).  We will go over the AP Classroom FR and and MC questions you had. 
  2. Go to AP Classroom and take the progress checks over unit 5  and 6 (curved grading for these.  FR and mandatory, MC are optional).    Keep studying the materials up to biotechnology and practicing past free response questions.
  3. Now is a good time, if you have an AP review guide, to start reading the chapter summaries to refresh your knowledge.
  4. I have released the Mesocosm Lab Rubric this week.  Its on page 2 of this document.  (Report won't be due until May 22nd)
